Teaching

In January 2016, I accepted a position as a Research Associate Professor at what was then SMU's O'Neil Center for Global Markets and Freedom, now called the Bridwell Institute for Economic Freedom. That position does not include formal teaching duties, but it does include responsibility for running the Bridwell-Armentrout Scholars Reading Group program, which meets for two hours a week throughout the fall and spring semesters. Prior to my arrival, it consisted of one group of 12 undergraduate students per semester. We have since expanded it to four groups per semester. It started as a program shared with Baylor and Texas Tech, and has expanded to include University of Central Arkansas. All of our previous reading lists are available here. Prior to coming to SMU, I taught for 11.5 years at Florida Gulf Coast University and two years at Eastern New Mexico University. The courses I previously taught are below.

Principles of Microeconomics (most recent syllabus)

Urban Economics (most recent syllabus)
